Chili Short
Ribs
INGREDIENTS
3 pounds beef short ribs 1
tablespoon vegetable oil 2 garlic cloves 2 teaspoons chili
powder 15-ounce can tomato sauce 1/2 teaspoon salt 1
teaspoon pepper 1 onion 32-ounce can red kidney beans
Brown ribs in hot oil. Remove and
drain all but 1 teaspoon fat. Add chopped garlic, lightly brown in
oil. Add chili powder, tomato sauce and bring to simmer. Sprinkle
ribs with salt and pepper and put in crockpot. Add sauce and sliced
onion. Cover and cook on LOW 6 to 8 hours. Remove bones from pot,
add kidney beans, cover and cook on HIGH 1 hour. Serve with
cornbread.
