Poor Man's Jelly
4 c. skinned and mashed tomatoes (red or green)
5 c. sugar
1 (6 oz.) pkg. Jell-O (raspberry, strawberry or
blackberry)
Prepare 4 cups skinned and mashed tomatoes; bring to a
full boil in heavy saucepan. Add 5 cups sugar; mixing well.
Bring
to a boil for 5 minutes. Remove mixture from heat and
add 6 ounce
package Jell-O and mix well. Pour into sterilized
jelly jars and seal
with paraffin or seal with lids. Process
jelly in 2 piece lid jars for
5 minutes in a boiling water
bath. (If jelly is sealed with paraffin,
store in refrigerator.)
