Pickled Beets

Cook Beets and peel
have ready 6 cups vinegar
4 1/2 cups sugar
4 cups water
3 sticks of cinnamon
cloves or allspice
salt to taste.
Put beets in the above ingredients
and bring to a boil
Put in hot sterilized jars
and seal.
