Whiskey Nut Cake



3/4 pound butter
2 cups sugar
6 eggs
4 cups plain or all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 wine glass of whiskey
2 cups pecans, chopped
16 ounces of sultanas or golden raisins

Cream butter and sugar. add eggs, one at a time. beating thoroughly after each addition. Mix together dry ingredients add to mixture. add whiskey, nuts and raisins.Bake in a well greased and floured tube or loaf tin in a preheated oven set at 350 degrees...for 1 to 1½ hours or when a toothpick is inserted in the centre of the cake and it comes out clean.Sadie the Brit
