Hidden Treasure Cake

Ingredients
1 10-inch angel food cake, baked
1 c. LUCKY LEAF/MUSSELMAN'S/APPLE TIME/SPEAS FARM/LINCOLN Apple Juice or 1 c. water
1 pkg. cherry flavored gelatin
1 can (21 oz.) LUCKY LEAF/MUSSELMAN'S Cherry Pie Filling

Preparation
Cut a thin layer from the top of the cake. Set aside. Slice around both outer and inner edges of the cake, removing the interior portion, without breaking through the bottom of the cake. Break the scooped-out cake into small pieces. Reserve. Boil apple juice or water and add to gelatin to dissolve. When dissolved, stir in cherry pie filling and pieces of cake. Chill until thick but not completely jelled. Carefully spoon into the hollowed-out cake shell. Cover with top cake layer. Frost with 1-1/2 cups whipped topping or whipped cream (sweetened to taste). Chill at least three hours before serving.
