Date Pudding Cake

This recipe comes from an English 1978 Women's magazine
Serves 4 to 6

3 eggs
1 cup sugar
¼ cup plain or all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
2½ cups chopped dates
1 cup chopped nuts
Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream to serve on the side.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.Grease a 9 x 9 inch baking tin.
Beat eggs in a large bowl until light and fluffy.Gradually add sugar, beating until thick. Stir in the flour, baking powder and salt.Mix in the dates and nuts
Pour batter into the baking tin.Bake for about 30 minutes,
Serve warm with either whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
